Another early spring bulb, these are known as Soap Plant from the Native American use of the sudsing saponosides in the rootstock. Recent genetic work has shown these wavy leafed plants to be more closely evolved with the spiny Agave then the previously assumed relation to the rest of the Lily tribe.
